Temporary, part-time, Marketplace Enrollment Assistors prepare consumers for enrollment into Federal Marketplace Insurance Plans through education, pre-assessment, and documentation collection. The majority of consumers assisted through this position will require guidance with Ryan White Program insurance cost assistance.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide consumers with information and assistance to understand health insurance options.
Work cooperatively with clinic and social services employees in the coordination of appointments, gathering of consumer information, appointment information, logistical needs, etc.
Utilize a pre-assessment form to determine if each consumer is eligible for Medicaid or the Affordable Insurance Marketplace, in addition to factors that may assist the consumer in making a decision on an insurance plan.� Assessments will be completed in the office or at a partnering community agency.
Demonstrate and maintain expertise in eligibility and enrollment rules and procedures; the range of qualified health plan options and insurance affordability programs; the needs of under-served and vulnerable populations; and privacy and security standards.
Help individuals understand and access affordability options. Provide information and assistance in a fair, accurate, and impartial manner.
Provide information and assistance in a manner that is culturally and linguistically appropriate to diverse communities and accessible to individuals with disabilities.
Comply with and successfully complete all required and applicable consumer assistance training.
Attend all training's and workshops scheduled as they relate specifically to this project.
Utilize a database and/or spreadsheet to track all applications/reviews and data. Document all time spent on each case. Keep copies of all applications and correspondence in charts.
Maintain technical competency and remain current in technology and changes in the industry. Perform all data entry accurately into the computerized system.
Attend regularly occurring meetings with the enrollment team.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients and other employees of the agency.
Strictly adhere to HIPAA laws and WU privacy policies.
Experience assisting patients with enrollment of public benefits and/or marketplace plans.
High school diploma with 3 years of experience in billing systems and third-party claims and/or experience in a medical office setting or related customer service/office experience.
Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
The hiring range for this position is $15.85 - $19.43 hourly.
