The Institute of Business Analytics is seeking an Assistant Research Scientist to facilitate coordinated application development and systems data integration efforts across the university, state, and federal agencies.
The Institute of Business Analytics and Culverhouse College of Business at The University of Alabama (UA) is seeking a research director to work in the Institute of Business Analytics (IBA). The Director of Application Development and Systems Integration will have leadership over software development within the Institute of Business Analytics (IBA), to include oversight and leadership of system design and development. Additional responsibilities may include data integration between disparate systems and data sources across the multiple projects that have significant data security guidelines and restrictions. Developing ETL processes to extract, transform and load data into a common data repository from multiple data sources across multiple state agencies.
The Director of Application Development and Systems Integration will report directly to the Director of the Institute of Business Analytics.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or closely related field and experience as web application development in either title or functional responsibility role.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced experience in design and development of software applications. Prefer experience with web application development using Microsoft .NET technologies (.NET C#, ASP.NET, Web services, .NET server platform), however advanced experience in other web-based programming languages (such as Java) is acceptable. In-depth familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is also desired. Experience with Oracle and PL/SQL will also be considered.
This appointment is a non-tenure staff position and the salary will be determined based on the credentials of the applicant. Successful Candidate(s) must submit a disclosure and consent form authorizing a background investigation.
