Performs basic accounting functions such as analysis, recording transactions, and account reconciliations. Prepares financial reports from standard financial data. Investigates and resolves accounting issues/problems related to assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenditures. Provides assistance in the development, implementation, and maintenance of internal financial systems and procedures, applying basic concepts, methods, and techniques. Handles daily cash management, bank treasury functions, and the College's business credit cards. Reports directly to the Senior Accountant.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
An excellent technical foundation in accounting and finance with an understanding and thorough knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP).
The ability to communicate with all levels of management and basic knowledge of the other functional issues and problems related to the different disciplines.
The ability to express ideas clearly in writing or in making informative presentations.
The ability to motivate others to achieve affirmative action and results.
Strong, articulate, detail orientated individual with excellent oral and written communication and accounting research skills.
Knowledge of MS Office (specifically MS Excel) and use of accounting software, including ERP systems such as Colleague, Banner, PeopleSoft, SAP, and Oracle.
Must be able to work between the hours of 8:30 a.m – 4:30 p.m; Monday through Friday. # Work schedule is subject to change based on department needs.
Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
