Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Emergency Medicine is looking for an experienced Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) to join MCIRCC. The candidate will take the lead on multiple study projects, in all aspects of clinical research including study planning, start up, IRB management, identifying study patients, consenting and enrolling participants, and data collection. The CRC will work at the University Hospital in the medical units and ICUs to collect data for non-invasive devices in the early stages of development. In addition, candidates will be encouraged to assist with data analysis, manuscript preparation, presentations, and coordination with related projects.
Recruitment: CRC will be responsible for identifying, screening, consenting, and enrolling subjects for study projects.
Regulatory: The candidate will follow all local, state, and federal regulations regarding clinical research as well as amending and managing IRB protocols.
Communication: CRC will communicate with Unit Manager as well as multiple Investigators concerning progress of research, subject related problems, recruitment strategies, and specific policies and procedures. The Candidate will serve as key resource to research participants and collaborators working collaboratively by maintaining a good rapport with research teams and faculty, as well as patients and families. CRC will prepare and organize space for study related materials and equipment. Maintain study equipment and supplies. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in a science or health-related degree or equivalent education and experience. 2+ years of experience as a study coordinator, researcher or study monitor. Demonstrated understanding of clinical research; understand compliance issues related to human subjects research, knowledge and application of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and FDA regulations. Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft software applications. Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously as well as prioritize and manage time and exercise good judgment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and with diverse teams of people in a diplomatic, collaborative and effective manner. Good attendance record. PEERS certification.
ACRP or SoCRA certification or effort towards certification. CITI or NIH Protection of Human Subjects Training Certification as well as HIPAA Certification or willingness to meet this requirement.
