The Workplace Technology Services (WTS) team develops and integrates UCSD Web content so information is available and accessible. We offer a centralized Web content management system (CMS), templates that reflect university branding, and services to help departments and organizations get the most out of these tools. We also maintain the UC San Diego app for the web platform, and for the native iOS and Android platforms.
Join an agile team in developing the campus mobile app for iOS and Android, using a cross-platform framework and cloud technologies. Work side-by-side with staff and student developers in expanding the mobile solutions for campus, such as two-way messaging and class registration.
Applies advanced software concepts and objectives to medium to large projects of broad scope and complexity.
Responsible for advancing the campus mobile platform, which includes the iOS and Android app, and dependent services and web applications.
Direct involvement with the full development life cycle of mobile and dependent services, implementing best practices such as continuous integration and deployment, code reviews, and pair programming.
Mentors junior team members on the technologies of the campus mobile platform.
Employee must be available to work evenings and weekends.
Employee must be available to travel as required.
Bachelor's Degree in related area; and/or equivalent experience/training.
Advanced knowledge of secure software development.
Highly advanced skills associated with software specification, design, modification, implementation and deployment of large-scale scope. Ability to develop technical designs and implement complex software applications.
Excellent project leadership and management skills.
Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs. Proven ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans.
Advanced experience with identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums.
Experience integrating third-party libraries, SDKs, and APIs, such as those provided in NodeJS and Dart.
