Facilities Planning and Management at Iowa State University is seeking to hire multiple Campus Service Grounds Attendant temporary positions for the fall/winter seasons. The responsibilities of the position include:Â 1) Snow removal: shoveling of doorways, steps, sidewalks, etc.Â 2) Leaf removal: blow/rake leaves and assist with leaf vacuum.Â 3) Shrub and tree pruning, including: chipping of brush. 4) Mulch shrub beds: assist groundskeepers in hauling and applying mulch 5) General grounds maintenance: pick up sticks/ trash; shop and equipment cleaning, etc.
The duties of this position require the ability to:Â - lift, carry, move 55 lbs on a routine basisÂ - run equipment properly according to instructions - work in a variety of environments, including adverse weather conditions and high/low temperatures. - communicate effectively, professionally and positively with others.Â - able to follow complex instructions from full time, permanent staff - wear required personal protection equipment (PPE) (steel toed shoes, reflective vest, leather gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, winter weather gear, etc.)
Hours: 6:00 a.m. â 2:30 p.m., Monday â Friday
Overtime possible for snow removal after normal workday hours.
