The Controllerâs Department at Iowa State University is seeking qualified candidates for an Accountant III within the Accounting and Financial Reporting Office.Â
As a member of the team, this position has assigned responsibilities for the preparation of the Universityâs annual financial statements and other assigned internal and external reporting and surveys.Â Â This position performs various accounting functions which may include reconciliations, creation of journal entries, chart of account maintenance, account monitoring, period close reviews, and business and capital asset accounting.
Other responsibilities include overseeing fee-for-service operation activities and providing guidance on rate-setting for compliance with institutional and federal costing requirements.Â This position will also maintain records and perform analyses for tax-exempt bond compliance.
The successful candidate will have the ability to comprehend, interpret and apply generally accepted accounting principles, federal costing requirements, and University policies and procedures.Â The candidate must also possess strong computer skills (including spreadsheet and database) as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.Â Strong analytical and problem solving skills, excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work independently or within a team will be essential for success in this position.
