A position is available for a Research Assistant to be a part of the Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Center research team. The prime objective of the Boston University Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Center (BU CTEC) Brain Bank is to foster and support high-impact, innovative, state of the art research on the effects of trauma to the brain and CTE by: a) collecting, storing, analyzing, and distributing biological samples to support high priority mTBI and CTE-related research; and b) conducting diagnostic neuropathological evaluation and maximize CNS tissue donation to support state of the art tissue-based research.

Prepare for incoming case, maintain cleanliness of work environment
Data collection and entry.
Maintains laboratory notebook.
Processes biospecimens for storage and ship outs in accordance to laboratory protocol.
Assist on brain tissue cutting.
Harvesting frozen and formalin fixed specimens.
Oversight of equipment integrity which includes, but is not limited to, -80C freezers and 4C refrigerators among other equipment and laboratory instruments.
Organize incoming brain cases as well as inventory management and planning.
Prepares lab reagents, solutions including formaldehyde-based solutions.
