The Department includes Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Prosthetics & Orthotics, Neuropsychology, and Vocational Rehabilitation units, as well as four undergraduate and graduate degree programs. In addition, the department hosts six federally funded Centers and attracts more than $13 million in grants from various funding sources. The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine currently has an outstanding opportunity for a PUBLIC INFORMATION SPECIALIST.This 100% FTE Public Information Specialist position will support the federally funded ADA Knowledge Translation Center (ADAKTC) to implement social media communication plan and policies for the ADA National Network (ADANN). It will also support the ADAKTC in other tasks related to the development of informational materials and in creating reports as part of program evaluation. This position will work as a member of a communications team in an environment that involves managing and prioritizing shared responsibilities. Responsibilities:Develop ADANN social media content 10% Post content on ADANN social media 10% Monitor social media comments and respond with templated responses or seek expert advice 5% Monitor social media comments and initiate the crisis management process if necessary 5% Manage the social media calendar (e.g., Hootsuite) 10% Coordinate social media specialists from the 10 regional ADA centers 10% Coordinate the development, writing and publication of factsheets on topics related to the ADA. 20% Develop, write and publish marketing materials that describe services of the ADANN. 5% Design and develop other informational products (e.g., videos, podcasts) 5% Create annual reports of the Outcomes Management System (OMS) for dissemination to regional centers. 5% Coordinate implementation of the OMS outcomes survey across 10 regional centers and create quarterly reports. 15% Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in English, Public Health, Education, Pre-law, or other relevant areas. Two years of experience with communication and social media Fluent in typical office computing software (Windows, Word, Excel) Experience posting content to social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) and able to learn new systems quickly.
