The person in this position will work internally with a small team of CSE-IT web developers and a project manager. They will develop relationships with clients (faculty, staff, and students), work with them to analyze and document their web-related business requirements, and communicate back and forth between those clients and the development team. Additionally, they will assist with web-related Help Desk tasks as time, and unit priorities allow.
Responsibilities: Service Identification and Coordination 60%
Work with clients (faculty, staff, and students) to identify website or web application objectives, functionality requirements, and to define system development scope.
Document client requirements and convey them to web developers.
Collaborate with developers to create and document project plans.
Facilitate and document client approval for project plans.
Evaluate internal and client workflow needs and create workflow diagrams and documentation.
Develop and implement test plans for some projects.
Relationship building between College of Science and Engineering - IT (CSE-IT) staff and clients.
Support Service for Incidents and Problems 20%
Help address incidents, problems, and requests that are reported to the CSE-IT Web Development Team.
Contribute to team efforts by completing various tasks as needed.
Problem Resolution 10%
Collaborate with clients, developers, and other technical staff to resolve system issues.
Follow up on issues and problems by monitoring the progress of developers and technical experts. Provide regular status updates to clients until the issues and problems are resolved.
Process Improvement 10%
Evaluate issue patterns and make recommendations for process improvement.
Create internal and external-facing documentation for procedures and processes.
Two years of work experience in the areas of business or systems process analysis with a related degree. Four years of work experience in the areas of business or systems process analysis with a non-related degree.
Understanding of Drupal CMS core functionality, modules, themes, site administration.
Service Desk experience in a technical environment.
Experience working with senior decision makers.
Experience writing technical instructions tailored to users with varying levels of technical expertise.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to relate to and communicate well with a wide variety of people.
Ability to accurately capture user requirements and relay the information back to a development team.
