Provides innovative leadership and financial oversight for a diverse group of revenue-generating auxiliary enterprises that directly support student life, the UH System community and its academic mission of student success. Responsible for the strategic implementation and directing the day-to-day activities of Auxiliary services departments and programs, including catering, campus stores, event booking, auxiliary lease management, supporting camp and conference programming, and other revenue-generating enterprises.
Oversees the administration of all aspects of contract compliance and monitoring with external vendors for Auxiliary revenue-generating activities across the UH System, including contract negotiations; drafting, reviewing and interpreting request for proposals (RFPs); and ongoing contract management and monitoring.
Plans, organizes, and directs the day-to-day processes and operations of auxiliary functions, interprets contract terms in Auxiliary Services agreements. Makes recommendations and provides guidance to UHS counterparts on contract terms and their administration.
For the UH System universities, identifies entrepreneurial opportunities for continuous business development, process improvement, and operating margin growth to be addressed via strategic initiatives and application of new technologies.
Develops outreach and engagement strategies that improve program and service awareness and effectively informs external and internal customers of the value, benefits, and key information about Auxiliary Services functions.
Defines and utilizes key performance indicators to monitor and track each auxiliary function's performance as well as the aggregate performance of the Auxiliary Services (e.g., customer service, efficiency, financial performance, pricing) across the UH System.
Directs the implementation of administrative procedures and systems to carry out departmental service-oriented objectives and UH System policies.
Develops and implements Auxiliary Services long-term strategic visions and initiatives to meet the needs of University and UH System constituents in accordance with the Universities mission, vision and strategic/master plans.
For the UH System universities, has oversight for the accounting, budgeting, and reporting for the auxiliary functions as well as periodic formal reporting to communicate operating results, including addressing challenges and opportunities with serving a diverse constituency of stakeholders and leaders.
Maintains pace with national industry standards and best practices as well as leads, models and maintains standards of excellence with Auxiliary Services.
Collaborates with UH System stakeholders to understand and optimize investments in technologies and processes; keeps apprised of technological advancements to enhance the effectiveness of integrated services. Identifies, prioritizes, and executes facility, brand upgrades/refreshes, and equipment maintenance in support of Auxiliary Services operations to ensure service quality in coordination with UH System Finance, and Facilities and Construction Management Departments.
Participates in the UH System community relations and improvements efforts working closely with UHS leadership, representing the unit and programs at meetings, serving on and leading committees and participating in professional associations.

Masters and 7 years experience.
Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job-related Master's degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Prefer a minimum of ten (10) years of directly job-related experience.
