Drake University is currently seeking a Veterans Student Advisor/School Certifying Official. This position will serve as the Veterans Certifying Official for the University and lead the university’s efforts in engagement, transition, and retention of the military student population. Bachelor’s degree and minimum 1-3 years of work experience is required. Prior Veterans Certifying Official experience and experience in higher education with advising, admissions, and/or student affairs is preferred.

Must be flexible to perform a variety of interrelated tasks, sustained concentration, and a use of reasoning, judgement, resourcefulness, analytical ability and ingenuity.
Ability to work well under pressure, meet competing timeframes and prioritize work.
Must be work well with others and a team player.
Familiar with VA Once processes (Veteran Administration software) when reporting enrollment certification.
General mathematics skills for calculating Tuition and Fees for Yellow Ribbon Students, as well as analytical skills needed when determining which grants/scholarships should be included when submitting enrollment information to the VA.
Ability to interpret and follow FERPA, AACRAO, Veteran Administration educational benefit and University Catalog guidelines when handling/responding to student record, registration-related and Veteran educational benefit inquiries and issues.
