A postdoc position is open in the interdisciplinary research area of nanomanufacturing in Dr. Golden Kumar's laboratory in Department of Mechanical Engineering, The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). The position is available from January 2019. The laboratory seeks a highly motivated and productive individual with strong knowledge and expertise in manufacturing, materials characterization, and cleanroom processing.
Duties include building vacuum manufacturing of metallic glasses, using cleanroom facility, guiding graduate and undergraduate students, writing journal papers, and assisting with grant proposals.
Ph.D in a related field.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Successful candidate will have a recent Ph.D. in either Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or other closely related fields. Prior research experience in thermoplastic processing is highly desirable, but applicants who have strong academic preparation and a track-record of accomplishment in related areas will be considered. Strong communication and scientific writing skills are highly desired.
