Master of Science in Athletic Training or a related field. Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing, licensed to practice athletic training in the state of Texas or eligible for licensure in Texas preferred. Three years of experience in a related field. One to three years of clinical experience in athletic training preferred. Experience with inventory, budget management, ordering, scheduling in a laboratory or clinical setting, teaching experience at the university-level, or demonstrated experience working with diverse populations is desirable. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Collaborates with the Athletic Training Program Director, Clinical Education Coordinator, and other program faculty to manage the Athletic Training Laboratory.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
Responsible for inventory management for Athletic Training Laboratory and procurement of lab materials. Facilitates Board of Certification preparatory sessions for students. Mentors and supports students through the learning of skills. Prepares and administers practical examinations and simulations. Monitors open labs and provides feedback to students. Travels to conferences with students (Southwest Athletic Trainers' Association Competency Workshop, National Athletic Trainers' Association, Greater Houston Athletic Trainers' Society). Assists in planning and preparing for interprofessional education activities. Attends recruiting events. Performs other related duties as assigned.
