Involves the preparation of surgical specimens for gross description and dissection, under supervision of a Pathologist. This includes but is not limited to: describes gross anatomic features; dissects surgical specimens; prepares tissue for histologic examination; and photographs the gross specimens. Performs postmortem examinations as needed.Applies comprehensive knowledge of clinical concepts and industry practices to lead and advise on surgical pathology grossing room techniques in the most complex tests.
Bachelor's degree in related area; and/or equivalent experience/training.
Completion of a two-year Pathologists' Assistant program (NAACLS accredited).
A minimum pf five (5+) or more years of relevant experience.
Experience and proven success with advanced knowledge in pathology theory and industry best practices.
Experience working with residents.
Academic medical center.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
