Our Shoulder, Elbow and Sports Medicine surgeons are renowned for their specialized expertise in advanced and complex procedures in shoulder, elbow and sports medicine surgery, their care of athletes from amateur to the highest levels of professional sports, and their clinical outcomes and biomechanical research supporting constant improvement in treatment of sports-related injuries to repair and restore patients to active functioning. This position reports to the Division Chiefs and the Departmental Administrator for the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. Primary functions of this position includes monitoring patient interactions, satellite offices, space and facilities management, and human resources, with guidance from the senior management team.
Work under guidance of Department Administrator and Director of Clinical Services as to operations and clinical team management for the Division and coordinate the needs of the Division with the Regional Practice Managers and Site Supervisors.
Responsible for monitoring the Division's practice performance and productivity on a monthly basis, which includes knowledge and understanding of interpreting monthly divisional dashboards, as well as developing dashboards and practice improvement strategies to improve the programs within SESM at Columbia Orthopedics
Make recommendations to senior administration to increase practice productivity and decrease staffing costs by monitoring and analyzing trends. Working with the Director of Finance and Billing Team, identify and formulate best practices that would optimize coding, maximize collections and decrease denials, and report findings to Physicians at Division Meetings.
Collect, analyze and summarize clinical and operational indicators for the Division by preparing briefings and presentations for the Division's physicians, the Department, and other external parties.
Oversee the day to day operations of Columbia Orthopedics DME program by coordinating care between the providers, Adven, DME authorization and billing teams, the orthotic fitters, East Coast, and our patients.
Act as main contact for all sport team affiliations, including working in conjunction with the Departmental Administrator and the Office of General Counsel for all contract negotiations and re-negotiations.
In coordination with the Division Chief, provide supervision of the ATC manager.
Coordinate the Sports Therapy Division's operations, under business plan guidance of the Sports Therapy DPT's, the Finance Director, Division Chiefs, the Department's Strategy Manager, and the Departmental Administrator.
Work closely with Surgical Scheduling Manager to help efficiently utilize the Division's OR block time.
As needed, work under the guidance of Department Research Administration Director, to help support the Division's Research Coordinators in staffing and space planning needs, as well as help support the ongoing efforts to implement a surgical registry geared to improving patient outcomes.
Represent the Division in division in Departmental and Administrative meetings as needed.Work with the Departmental Administrator to ensure the smooth interaction of the Division's operations with marketing management, research administration, finance and billing, HR and administrative management.
As needed, work under the guidance of the Department's Marketing Director to support marketing and public relations initiatives for the Division.

Must successfully complete system training requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience.
Master's degree preferred.
Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills; customer service and attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to identify problems, opportunities, and the ability to troubleshoot and implement solutions and improvements successfully.
Must be a motivated, self-starter with project development experience.
Must be able to work independently, take initiative and responsibility for complex tasks.
Professional demeanor and appearance required
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and working with large data sets/data visualization, preferably in Cognos
Ability to solve complex problems in a timely manner.
Knowledge of DME and other prosthetics.
Knowledge of electronic medical records or other electronic systems.
Familiarity of stark laws
Familiarity of Columbia ARC and RASCAL systems, as well as InfoEd and Grants.gov
