FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Urban Policy and Planning Department (UPP) at Hunter College is holding an open rank search for an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor with expertise in Geographic Information Science and Technology who will enhance the department's research and teaching capacity in urban planning. We are particularly interested in candidates who use GIS in research focused on transportation planning/modeling, land use, site planning, or urban design; however, we will consider applications from scholars conducting research in other urban planning-related areas. UPP is an interdisciplinary department with two graduate programs (MS in Urban Policy and Leadership, Master of Urban Planning [MUP], and an undergraduate Urban Studies program. The successful candidate will be expected to teach basic and advanced GIS skills courses, as well as courses in their substantive area of expertise. Duties include: Perform teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.

Ph.D. degree in urban planning or related discipline, demonstrated ability to teach GIS at the graduate and undergraduate levels, a record of scholarship commensurate with academic rank sought, and a record of professional and institutional service.
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
