The Department of Management and Information Systems at Kent State University College of Business is interested in identifying high quality adjunct faculty who can teach in our business seminars supporting our Exploring Business course or assume course responsibility for our Advance Professional Development course.

Format & Subject Matter
Exploring Business is an introductory course to the world of business. The overall format is two lectures taught by the course coordinator and one seminar facilitated by adjuncts weekly. Seminars are taught in-class consisting of 20-25 students. The seminars provide opportunities for students to work in teams on case studies pertaining to the primary functional area of business discussed that week.
The Advanced Professional Development is an upper division course preparing the students to transition from college to career and highlight expectations of professional behavior in the workplace. The format is a three-hour class taught once or twice a week exclusively by the adjunct. Class size is generally 25 – 30 students.
Content, format and materials used in seminars and courses are pre-designed so that all students in the program have a uniform experience with standardized course content.
Successful candidates should have either an MBA or master’s degree in a relevant, related area and a minimum of 2 years hands-on business experience. They should also have very good communication skills with the ability to relate to undergraduate students. Those interested in the Advanced Professional Development course will need to have a working knowledge of Blackboard or other university-based learning management system. Broad business knowledge is preferred and prior teaching experience at the university level is a plus.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
Must pass a security check.
