Manager, Workplace Accommodations and Disability- Careers Center-Employee Health & Wellness
We are seeking a Disability Management and Prevention Specialist to lead the workplace accommodations program at MSK by facilitating patient care and return to work decision-making. In this role, you will be an administrator and manager to enable employees to remain at work or return to work safely and productively and in accordance with MSK policies, medical, and legal aspects.

You Will: This position requires both day-to-day management of complex individual cases, and, leading the success of the entire program. Collaborate with employees and their managers, employee health & wellness providers, Human Resources (HR), Environmental Health & Safety, disability management and workers compensation vendor partners in conducting the interactive process and identifying reasonable accommodations to take forward. Serve as accommodations representative on various MSK-wide committees, including training and development as warranted. Establish protocols and training for and conduct employee return to work and stay at work evaluations. Lead the Workers Compensation and Disability Management program, including maintaining up-to-date knowledge of workers compensation and disability regulations. Oversee the management of complex cases and provide assistance to management in resolving difficult absence management issues. Collaborate and interface with disability and Workers Compensation vendor(s) and local management to identify early return to work opportunities (employee accommodations) and help facilitate their implementation through the creation of return to work plans and consultation with local management and other benefits e.g., EAP, Wellness when possible. Collect and maintain appropriate case documentation and data on organizational activity and other metrics as required within MSK standards and protocols. Track all accommodations involved with by employee and direct cost savings to company and business unit. Report out to local business units on metrics as appropriate. Identify work-related injury trends and opportunities for prevention. Collaborate with providers in the Employee Health Clinic, in order to support management of work-related injury or medical illness, return to work visits, assessments of fitness for duty, and appropriate accommodations. Actively participate in the MSK Safe Patient Handling Committee and other safety-related, cross-functional committees.
Qualifications needed are: At least 5 years of related experience in a relevant role, in either human resources management, clinical work as a Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA), or Registered Nurse (RN). MSK will sponsor time and costs associated with Certified Professional Disability Management (CPDM) and the Certified Leave Management Specialist (CLMS) designations, which must be earned within one year of hire if not already held by candidate. Facility with informatics or data management desirable.
Hours: Monday Friday 9am- 5pm.
