The Department of Engineering Management, Systems, and Technology at the University of Dayton, located in Dayton, Ohio, invites applications for a tenure track faculty position for Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering Technology and Engineering Management to begin on August 16, 2020. This position directly supports the mission of the department through teaching and advising undergraduate and graduate students, and the development of a scholarly research program.

-PhD. in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering Technology, or a closely related discipline
-At least two years of relevant technical experience within the area of specialization
-Excellent written communication skills
-A record of accomplishment that demonstrates the ability to teach in Industrial Engineering Technology and Engineering Management Programs.
-Demonstrated ability to perform scholarly activities.
Preferred Qualifications:* While everyone may not possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following qualifications:
-Demonstrated ability to perform curriculum, course, and lab development activities
-Three or more years of relevant technical experience
-Demonstrated ability to teach technical subjects to a diverse audience
-Demonstrated ability to employ active learning approaches
-Demonstrated ability to provide academic and professional advising and mentoring of undergraduate students
-Demonstrated ability to teach within the areas of Facilities Layout Design, Process Simulation and Analysis, Design of Experiments, Systems Engineering, Decision Analysis and System Dynamics
- Demonstrated ability to foster undergraduate research
-Active participation in the industrial community and professional societies
-Demonstrated continuous growth within a relevant technical area
-Demonstrated ability to publish in technical publications
-Demonstrated ability to establish a research program including experience with grant writing activities and obtaining funding
-Effective presentation skills of technical material
-Effective interpersonal communication skills
-An articulated appreciation of the University’s Marianist values of theory-to-practice, practical wisdom, and community
-Experience teaching and advising students from diverse backgrounds
