The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is seeking an Information Associate for the Clinic Administration Patient Registration-Records reception desk. The Patient Registration-Records desk is an important part of the health care delivery system ensuring optimal health care experience for our dental patients.

Responsible for checking in new/returning patients to be seen in the Predoctoral Clinics; assists and accurately registers patients at four busy registration desk windows; schedules appointments for patients in person and over the phone; answers questions and provides accurate information over the phone about services and College information; works in a team environment supporting and providing backup coverage as necessary; maintains a high degree of professionalism with all patients and team mates; assists with all standard tasks associated with patient records including but not limited to records purges, the student chart audit and processing patient and third party record requests; provides back up coverage for the Columbus State Community College evening clinic dental hygiene program and other areas within Clinic Administration as needed;
This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 pm; this position requires providing coverage for the evening student clinic as part of a staff rotation, working occasional weekends for college events and backup coverage for hygiene day and evening clinics as needed; candidate must be able to bend/stretch/twist to pick up supplies, retrieve records or maintain office appearance; involves sitting for longer periods of time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
One year of experience (1000 hours of course work or training) in customer service or communications, including analyzing and interpreting information; six months of experience (600 hours of training) in operation of computer and related peripheral equipment; three months of experience (300 hours of course work) in information research and analysis.
Scheduling patients' appointments accurately in a medical or dental setting; very detailed oriented; developed organizational skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; a high level of proficiency using Microsoft Office in a business environment; ability to complete appropriate correspondence to maintain patient communication; self-motivated individual capable of making informed decisions independently; open to develop and create on-going process improvements; working as a team member and has high level of emotional intelligence; able to develop positive working relationships with a diverse population; creates and analyzes patient data with a high level of accuracy.
Target Salary: $12.50 - $14.50 Hourly
