The Department of Psychiatry - Division of Psychology in the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa is seeking a Clinical Neuropsychologist to join our clinical track faculty at any rank. The Department of Psychiatry is celebrating its 100-year anniversary this year. We currently have 87 faculty members, including 24 psychologists, 5 of whom are neuropsychologists, to carry out the Department's mission including excellence in clinical services, teaching and research. As a partner with the recently established Iowa Neuroscience Institute, the University is experiencing unprecedented growth of innovative research and translational programs in the neurosciences. As one of the only Lifespan Neuropsychology academic groups in the region, we commonly receive referrals from UI departments of Psychiatry, Family Medicine, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Athletics, Transplant Services, and the Cancer Center, along with external referrals from around the state. We are active in training future neuropsychologists including graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and have a Lifespan Clinical Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellowship program that is a member of the Association of Postdoctoral Programs in Clinical Neuropsychology (APPCN).
Responsibilities include: Assessing adult outpatients and inpatients with a wide range of cognitive, medical and psychiatric disorders through the selection, administration, and interpretation of neuropsychological and psychological tests; Providing findings and recommendations to patients, families, and a multidisciplinary treatment team; Providing direction and supervision to psychometricians; Maintaining timely clinical documentation; Providing supervision, training, and occasional lectures to postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, medical students, and residents; Collaborating on research projects or other scholarly activities; Administrative duties including program development, participation in departmental and division meetings, and in-service sessions.
