The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering within the College of Engineering at Iowa State University is seeking an Administrative Specialist I to provide administrative and academic support for the department. This position serves in a customer service role as the primary contact and source for communication of information to internal and external constituents.
Duties supporting the department include curriculum related financial management; academic and student event coordination; administrative and faculty support; data and report compilation and analysis; and project and job management.
The successful candidate will possess effective organizational and management skills; problem solving and critical decision-making abilities; be an independent thinker; develop and administer processes and procedures; and have excellent customer service and communication skills including the ability to work well with a diverse population. The selected candidate will be reliable and honest with a strong work ethic and be team-oriented. All staff members are expected to interact collegially and maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethical behavior.
