Assistant Professor - Tenure Track Interior Design Department of Art & Design Holland College of Arts & Media
Candidate will teach courses, assist with curriculum development and accreditation processes, and advise/mentor undergraduate students in interior design. In addition, the candidate will assist with student recruitment and retention, engage in university and community service activities, serve on departmental/college/university committees, and adhere to the teacher/scholar model. In addition, the candidate will be expected to participate in professional organizations and network with representatives from the interior design industry and business community.
PhD, MFA, MID, M.Arch. in Interior Design or Architecture (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally/accredited/government certified university.)
NCIDQ certification at time of employment
Demonstrated relevant industry or teaching experience
Demonstrated record of scholarly activity (publication, creative design work, research)
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with diverse internal and external constituencies
Knowledge of computer aided drafting and illustration programs, such as Revit, Photoshop, SketchUP
Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, scholarship and service consistent with the teacher-scholar model
Evidence of involvement in professional organizations
Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills
Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the University community
Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multi-cultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities
