The Kellogg School of Management is seeking an accomplished program professional to serve as the Associate Director, Speaker Bureau. This role will report to the Senior Director of Speakers Bureau & Conferences and will work to develop and implement a speaker bureau for Kellogg, support the Senior Director on associated reporting, and provide oversight for the Program Assistant, Speaker Bureau and related activities in support of building a robust pool of speaker candidates for Kellogg.
Qualified candidates will bring strong foundational knowledge of program development principles and have the ability to develop plans with complete autonomy and limited direction. The ideal candidate will have strong relational skills as they will be required to liaise closely with senior leadership across the university. Finally, they should have strong people management skills with knowledge of change management and stakeholder engagement strategies in support of program implementation. The role will require that the Assoc Director provide direction and thought leadership to develop strategic goals and objectives; define associated metrics to measure results; create and obtain resources to ensure success. They will further be responsible to regularly review, create and nurture internal and external alliances, collaborations and partnerships.
Day to day, the Assoc Director will develop, track, manage and report on speaker needs and commitments reporting directly to the Senior Director of Speakers Bureau and Conferences with progress reports, risks and suggested mitigates. They will also be responsible for representing the Senior Director to external stakeholders, as necessary, in support of team objectives. The role requires a great deal of independent judgement, poise under pressure and superior organization and executive reporting skills for the benefit of senior leaders.
Directs and leads development of program/project strategic plan.
Oversees & ensures that day-to-day operations are appropriately managed, efficient and effective.
Operationalizes goals & objectives; ensures that resources are created or obtained.
Oversees data analysis & recommends & implements changes & improvement to better ensure attainment of mission.
Plans, develops, & implements effective strategies, goals & approach for the Kellogg Speakers Bureau.
Collaborates with internal/external partners to ensure that plans are implemented and meet or exceed planned goals.
Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify common goals, increase integration and increase program profile, reputation, visibility and support.
Creates plan to drive awareness of Speaker Bureau in appropriate markets.
Creates and oversee change management strategies to ensure successful implementation of all projects.
Actively obtains market intelligence by monitoring program peers/competitors and sharing information with appropriate groups.
Builds relationships with appropriate communities & organizations that will result in program enhancement.
Prospecting & Engagement
Identifies, researches, cultivates and personally communicates with portfolio of speaker prospects.
Develops strategies designed to realize the full potential of a speaker’s engagement with Kellogg.
Advances individual relationships that result in increase engagement including philanthropic contributions, research collaborations, teaching from individual and affiliated organization(s).
Ensures consistent and appropriate contact, facilitate or make introductions, and ensure effective stewardship.
Gains a comprehensive understanding of the priorities of Kellogg to make a persuasive verbal and written case for speaking at Kellogg, effectively matching the interests and areas of expertise of prospects to specific needs.
Human Resources & Supervision
Lead the development of team objectives and strategies and develop tactics to meet individual and group goals.
Manages implementation of human resource programs, policies, procedures & talent management lifecycle & related mentoring & training for all assigned staff.
Oversees recruitment & selection process; Performance Excellence plan for each employee; & merit increase process.
Interprets HR policy to maximize effectiveness of HR administration to meet strategic plan objectives.
Determines goals, objectives, outcome measurements and metrics, and collaboration opportunities with other internal and external organizations.
Oversees the ongoing development and refinement of the program's current and future goals in consultation with subject matter experts.
Provides leadership for planning, scheduling, delivering, reporting and maintaining program to sustain high quality outcomes.
Supports Senior Director on key project initiatives and achievement of team’s 6- and 12-month goals.
Creates and maintain team’s workflow management system to ensure consistent achievement in meeting team’s stated goals and expected accomplishments.
Oversees development & implementation of processes & procedures for all safety, security & compliance programs.
Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, local & NU laws, regulations, policies & procedures.
Oversees creation &/or implementation of associated training.
Provides advice, counsel, recommends changes & improvements to program & or operations to better meet organizational needs.
Develops and implements a comprehensive, visionary program/project strategy designed to continually grow and improve programs and build internal/external engagement.
Provides guidance and support to staff in the creation of program components.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
8-10 years program administration or other relevant experience.
