Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Community Outreach Services of Rutgers, University Behavioral Health Care.
The Program Coordinator provides day-to-day clinical and administrative supervision to program staff. Monitors staff to ensure that high quality recovery education and support services are provided to individuals with criminal justice involvement and a history of opioid abuse.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Supervises staff on a daily basis, providing administrative direction, and programmatic oversight.
Facilitates assessment and subsequent assignment of referrals and groups.
Provides staff with ongoing timely consultation, direction and instructions for the provision of peer support services.
Recognizes, assesses, and makes appropriate referrals in potential crisis situations to appropriate Department of Corrections/University Correctional Health Care (DOC/UCHC) resources.
Monitors staff compliance with all assessments and documentation requirements ensuring compliance on a consistent basis, as monitored through documentation reports, supervisory tools and chart review.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in appropriate mental health discipline plus four (4) years of post master's relevant mental health experience.
All clinical licensing as required by discipline and the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (e.g. Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or a licensed Psychologist), preferably the LCADC.
Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must posses a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Must possess own vehicle or alternate. means of transportation for use to outreach individuals served.
One (1) year supervisory experience.
Experience in correctional setting and/or with adults diagnosed with Opioid Use Disorders.
Bi-lingual skills (English/Spanish).
Must be approved by the Department of Corrections (DOC) and adhere to all DOC requirements.
Must submit to random urine screen when requested.
Schedule may include weekend, holiday and/or evening shifts.
