Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Clinic Services Representative II for the Department of Pediatrics at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
This position performs a variety of patient registration, billing and collection duties in support of the University Medical School clinic operations. The Clinic Services Representative II greets and registers patients, schedules appointments, responds to routine inquiries regarding a number of operating and billing issues, receives patient payments and performs routine bookkeeping tasks.
Among the key duties of this position include the following:
Answers routine inquiries regarding physician's qualifications, available appointment times, and directions to facility, etc., in accordance with written policies.
Provides physician information and referrals for care to patients, in a courteous and professional manner utilizing referral service software.
Utilizes computer to schedule patient appointments for a variety of providers in a timely and efficient manner and in accordance with written policies and guidelines.
Posts payments to billing records and reconciles credit balances.
Monitors accuracy of records.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of medical terminology.
The ability to function in a team environment.
Basic word processing and computer skills.
At least two (2) years of relevant experience in a medical office setting.
Valid driver’s license.
Must be able to travel to multiple sites.
