The Department of Early Intervention and Support Services (EISS) is seeking Advanced Practice Nurses Per Diem to serve as experts in the delivery of advanced nursing care. Functions collaboratively with physician of protocol for prescriptive practice. Works within the treatment team to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and assessment services to clients. Demonstrates competency according to the American Nursing Association Advanced Practice Standards for Psychiatric Nursing.
Conducts initial assessment of Early Intervention and Support Services (EISS) consumers, in collaboration with treatment team members.
Collaborates with consumer and treatment team members to develop person-centered treatment plans based on the consumer's expressed life goals.
Identifies risk factors and implements appropriate prevention and intervention.
Coordinates referrals and facilitates transfers; assists in ensuring that consumers have access to appropriate medication.
Assists in the development of protocols for specific psychiatric consumer population.
Responsible for clinical documentation that is current and meets standards of practice.
Provides specific consultation and expertise in the areas of diagnosis and medication management.
Collaborates with consumer and treatment team members, in discharge planning process..
Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with providers of psychiatric and mental health services.
Identifies system problems and communicates suggestions to resolve issues and improve quality of services.
Maintains standards for certifications in specialty role; meets all annual requirements and understands and adheres to Rutgers compliance standards.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in Nursing.
At least two (2) years of nursing experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
Certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Nurse Practitioner) in psychiatric mental health nursing and current NJ Board of Nursing Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse with prescriptive ability.
Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license.
