MassBay Community College is looking for an energetic, creative and detail-oriented individual for the position of Higher Education Innovation Fund Project Coordinator (Part-Time). Appreciation of Computer Science and Business/IT education and careers are necessary, and a strong interest in higher education is preferred. This position is grant-funded through the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education. The grant focuses on addressing the growing workforce gap in Computer Science occupations faced by the Commonwealth. The project builds on the existing relationships between MassBay, Framingham State University, Framingham High Schools and Keefe Technical Regional High School.
The program introduces black, Latinx, and female students and families in the area of Computer Science and Business IT with the intent that the students will major in technology or Business/IT discipline. The project will include workshops for students and family members, professional development for faculty and staff, CS and Business IT courses for the students. Also, the students will receive a computer, a hotspot, academic advising/coaching, and various field trips.
This position reports to the Project Director and works closely with the program team and several departments and offices at MassBay including grants, purchasing, fiscal and enrollment. The incumbent will be responsible for
Collaborating with faculty and staff to provide administrative and operational support for the grant;
Creating and disseminating promotional materials to students and families at MassBay, Framingham State University, Framingham High School, and Keefe Technical Regional High School;
Assuming primary responsibility for processing and tracking grant requisitions and maintaining the annual budget to ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions;
Participating in grants -related reporting and evaluation activities, including designing surveys and interpreting survey results;
Inventorying and ordering program supplies;
Coordinating the two advisors/coaches with outreach activities;
Hiring and coordinating student peer advisors;
Performing other duties as assigned.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate an appreciation and understanding of Computer Science and Business/IT fields and careers and a strong interest in higher education. The successful candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business/IT education, or a related field (Master's degree a plus). Prefer at least two years' experience working in an educational setting, preferably in programs related to student success or high school-to-college transitions; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
Strong project management, oral and written communications skills;
Must be flexible, with the ability to multi-task and frequently adjust to changing priorities and timelines in a fast-paced working environment;
Ability to work individually and as a member of a team;
Some weekend or evening travel/duties should be anticipated.

Salary Range: $28.00/ hour, part-time position (not to exceed 18 hours weekly).
