Job Description Summary
Plans and conducts basic experiments to meet research project objectives, with close supervision. Assists in performing laboratory experiments and clinical studies for product or material formulation and development. Daily management of laboratory tool, documentations and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and timely completion of project/program deliverables. Closely collaborates with Principal Investigator (PI) on experimental/set ups in accordance to established protocols.
We are looking for a self-motivated, inquisitive, ambitious, and enthusiastic research assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can interact well with others as part of a team. This position will involve a combination of independent and team-driven research projects in cancer biology, as well as providing lab management assistance under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator. Special emphasis is placed on performing various molecular biology assays (e.g. cloning, RNA/DNA extraction, PCR and library preparation), cell-based epigenetics assays (e.g. ChIP), CRISPR-Cas9 cell-based screens. Opportunities exist to actively contribute to research projects and present data at lab meetings for interested candidates. Other duties may include, but not limited to: record data and analyze results; maintain inventory of frozen cell stocks and plasmids; prepare laboratory reagents and maintain equipment; support general lab management.
This position is contingent on funding.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Biology (or other Life Science or related fields) with 0-1 year of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience required.. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Previous experience with cell culture, mouse handling, molecular biology and biochemical techniques are highly desirable. Ability to adapt to existing systems and be wiling to learn new procedures and techniques. Team oriented and flexibility to meet varied and changing project needs. Looking for a 2-year commitment at minimum.
