The Network Equipment Specialist has two primary functions: Support the network operations team by responding to 1st level requests, phone calls and other team duties as needed, and participating in the handling and tracking of network equipment as it is purchased, installed or removed from service.
Network Request Handling - Process requests as assigned, assist in changes to network infrastructure such as DNS/DHCP/IPAM assignments, network switchport attribute changes, AP provisioning. Responding to priority requests from field technicians, opening TAC cases, metric reporting and report/dashboard creation or ad-hoc requests/reports using management tools.
Equipment Handling - Assist with tracking orders, ensuring that equipment is available for service order processing, maintaining levels of commonly used items, confirm service order completion and documentation accuracy, responding to questions about inventory levels or confirmation of equipment locations, RMA handling and Surplus documentation. Review yearly maintenance quotes with NTG engineering to maintain appropriate service levels and additions or deletions.
Associates degree preferred
1 year professional experience working in a technology field
Some knowledge of the following is preferred:network protocols, routing protocols, PC and other microcomputer architecture.
Excellent customer service skills; tact and sensitivity in dealing with diverse user community.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Good written and oral communications skills required.
Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
