The Financial Aid Assistant will assist students and parents with the financial aid application and conduct financial aid presentations to promote federal, state and institutional programs. Conduct need analysis and verification in compliance with federal criteria to determine the eligibility of each applicant. The Financial Aid Assistant will determine types and amounts of financial aid awarded through packaging process according to federal, state and institutional requirements. To perform other duties as assigned.
Associate’s Degree in office careers or higher in a related field. One year experience in a student financial aid office setting. Knowledge of federal EDExpress/COD/FAA/CPS/NSLDS and state GAPS software applications. Must have effective oral and written communication skills, and the ability to interact well with all students, faculty, and staff. Have computer skills that includes word processing, data entry and simple database tasks. Must be attentive to details and be flexible to work as a teamwork player. Must have sound judgmental, organizational, mathematical and customer service skills. Must be available for evening and occasional weekend work.
