Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (HS Clin, Clin X, Adjunct, In-Residence) Pediatric Emergency Medicine

The University of California San Diego (UCSD), Department of Pediatrics and Rady Children's Hospital of San Diego (RCHSD) are committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. We are seeking academic physicians at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank to join the Division of Emergency Medicine at both our main campus and satellite emergency departments and urgent cares.
RCHSD, a 377-bed level 1 Trauma Center, is the major regional primary and tertiary pediatric hospital and is the clinical home of UCSD Department of Pediatrics. The Division has a strong commitment to clinical care, teaching and research. It runs an ACGME-accredited fellowship and has 8 fellows (total) in training each year. We are the pediatric emergency medicine training site for over 200 residents and over 50 medical students. The main campus ED has a census of over 95,000 visits per year and over 12,000 per year at our satellite locations. The division also has 5 community pediatric urgent care centers with a combined census of about 60,000 visits per year.
The candidate will join our staff of 40 PEM BC/BE attending physicians, 3 BC/BE pediatricians, and 6 mid-level providers to provide coverage at both our main campus and satellite ED providing the vast majority of the pediatric emergency care for San Diego county.
Candidates must have an MD or DO or equivalent and must be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Candidates must be board eligible or board certified and have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
Candidates with a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience are preferred. Candidates with a focus on clinical research or medical education with experience in either or both is also preferred.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
