Purpose of this Position:
This position supports the operations of the Career Development Center and handles the administrative function of the internship for credit program. Report To: This position reports to the Director of the Career Development Center.
Direct Staff Reports: The Internship Administrator supervises 4-5 student office assistants.
Student Workers this position supports: Is this position Essential' and be needed for emergencies or to work when the College is closed? No.
Essential Functions of the Role: Internship for Credit Program: Manages the administrative process for the internship for credit program. Reviews student internship proposals for content accuracy and adherance to deadlines and policies. Communicates with and assigns to faculty and internship site supervisors their review and approval responsibilities. Maintaining accurate data and generating reports for departmental internship coordinators.
Student Assistant Supervision Recruit, hire and train 4-5 students for front desk coverage and supporting career center staff. Maintains student schedules and handling front desk coverage and troubleshooting. Supervises students and oversees customer service efforts for populations that interact with center ie. parents, students, alumni, faculty and employers.
Office Operations Handling the purchasing process and assists with overall budget activities Oversees event planning needs which include room reservations, catering orders, and guest registration.
Other Responsibilities: Attend college wide events as a member of the division of student affairs. Acts as a representative of the career center when interacting with campus partners.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus 2-4 years of administrative experience. Database management and data reporting skills. Knowledge of Google platforms, MS Office. Ability to work with students of different backgrounds. Superior attention to detail and follow through for administrative tasks. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
