The Section of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Boston University School of Medicine/ Boston Medical Center seeks a Clinical Investigator to lead its program in Clinical Research Breast Oncology .
Under its new Chief, Dr. Matthew Kulke, the Hematology-Oncology Section brings the resources of a major academic medical center to serve a diverse patient population in the city of Boston and New England. The Section provides a full range of modern diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with cancer and blood diseases; carries out clinical and laboratory research to improve outcomes for these diseases; and trains physicians and investigators to carry on this mission in the future.
The Director will lead clinical care and research initiatives, rapidly expanding clinical and translational research programs in Breast Oncology. Our multi-disciplinary team works closely with patients, providing the resources and close cooperation of many specialists with deep expertise in diagnosing and treating breast cancer. Our physician-scientists are also researching and developing new and effective treatments for breast cancer, including clinical trials . Having representatives from medical oncology, surgical oncology and radiation oncology working together to coordinate patient care that ensures all feasible approaches to treatment will be considered, and our patients will receive the combination of treatments that is best for them.
Qualified candidates will possess an MD or MD/PhD and be board certified in Medical Oncology. Candidates will be licensed or eligible for a medical license in the state of Massachusetts. Academic rank will be based on qualifications and experience. Competitive candidates will possess demonstrated expertise in both patient care and clinical investigations, however outstanding candidates at the beginning of their careers will be also be considered.
