This is a leadership role which will provide technical expertise and strategic leadership to the team of data analytics developers responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of analytics solutions, data extractions and processing to support mission-critical analyses, reports, visualizations and dashboards that drive key business decisions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Own the delivery of data analytics solutions, driving the strategy, tools and workflows for analysis, data management and insights generation.
Lead a team of data analytics and report developers to deliver projects, and maintain infrastructure and data management processes for scalable and efficient data analytics support.
Lead a broader university wide team of data analysts in advanced student success analyses and the development of actionable dashboards.
Oversee the Student Success Analytics platform (EAB) to ensure data quality.
Lead the development of student success predictive model(s) that are integrated to the Student Success Analytics platform.
Lead the integration of cross functional and cross ERP data sources across the institution.
Collaborate with multiple areas of the University to gather requirements and complete analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of reporting, analytics and visualization needs across the campus using appropriate BI tools.
Monitor, investigate and troubleshoot data integrity and data quality between source systems (Banner, Degree Works, Slate, Canvas, etc.) and ODS.
Contribute to the Data Governance program.
Support on-going data quality assessment efforts by designing and developing with the team automated data quality checks, processes, and queries to measure data quality against standards and thresholds.
Develop and manage reporting standards based on best practices while conforming to existing internal security guidelines.
Ensure proper configuration of production and non-production reporting and BI environments, co-ordinate and manage updates and patches to keep software platforms current, and provide on-going production support.
Contribute to Cognos and Tableau end-user training and materials.Â Conduct training sessions as necessary.

B.S. in Information Systems, Computer Science, engineering or other technical areas which provides analysis and programming or equivalent experience
At least 4 years of experience writing complex SQL, PL/SQL queries
At least 2 years of experience working with users in requirements gathering, developing and implementing analytics solutions and developing documentation
Solid understanding of database, data warehousing and ETL/ELT concepts
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently as well as within a team
Experience in a Higher Education environment
Experience leading a team of data analysts
Demonstrated skills in conducting research, preferably in a higher education setting with respect to admission, enrollment and tuition and fees
Ability to work collaboratively in an academic environment with a diverse community of senior leadership, staff, faculty, students and other stakeholders.
Experience with data analysis tools, including Python, R, SPSS, Tableau, Cognos
Experience with predictive modeling and analytics
Experience with transforming disconnected data from multiple sources into actionable information
Working knowledge of Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or similar integration tools
Experience with log file processing and analysis
Experience with visual analytics design
Knowledge of Data Management and Governance principles
Experience with Tableau Server, Ellucian Banner, Banner ODS, Workday, Canvas Learning Management System, Data Cookbook
