A doctor of medicine degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited medical school, and a completed residency. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid, active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Iowa.
Experience working with young adults and/or college students. Experience working with diverse patient population. Experience with NextGen or otherÂ EMRÂ software.
Thielen Student Health Center (TSHC) is the primary provider of health care services for the students of Iowa State University. It provides primary health care, mental health services, laboratory and radiology services, pharmacy services and physical therapy.Â TSHCÂ is a busy, full service, ambulatory clinic accredited byÂ AAAHCÂ (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care) serving a diverse population.
TSHCÂ is seeking a staff physician to provide high quality, full-service health care including preventive medicine, management of chronic diseases, and diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and injuries for Iowa State University students and their spouses/domestic partners at the Thielen Student Health Center (TSHC). The staff physician will collaborate with mental health professionals, wellness center staff and other area health care providers.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional listening, oral, and written communication skills as well as problem solving ability.
This position serves at the pleasure of university administration and is exempt from certain P&S policies.
