The position of Head of Research, Instructional and Engagement Services/Associate Professor is a 12-month, tenure track appointment. Reporting to the Associate Dean, the successful candidate collaboratively coordinates liaison librarian services and oversees reference, e-learning, outreach, instruction and research support services. Working closely with other department heads, the incumbent proposes and implements new services, programming and workflows to advance the library's mission. The position plays a lead role in assessing and transforming library learning spaces to align with evolving research and instructional needs. The incumbent serves as a subject and/or functional liaison to a campus department or center, participates in library planning and serves on library and university committees. The work schedule includes some evenings and weekends.

The mission of North Carolina A&T State University's F. D. Bluford Library is to support and advance teaching, learning and research at N.C. A&T through user-focused services, technologies, and physical and virtual learning spaces. We ensure individuals have access to globally trusted information resources that equip them with the knowledge to provide solutions to society's challenges.
The library serves nearly 12,000 students, over 650 faculty, and the residents of the Piedmont Triad region. The library is a select depository for federal and state publications. Open 24-hours a day, library users have access to over a million print and electronic resources, technology-enhanced group study rooms, over 200 computer workstations, wireless access throughout the building, mobile Internet devices, and archives that document the history of the University and the region.

-Experience conducting information literacy instruction sessions and providing research consultations in an academic library environment -Engagement with trends in higher education, including, but not limited to, the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education -Knowledge of online learning techniques -Familiarity with data visualization and analysis tools -Grant writing experience -Ability to meet the library’s criteria for rank at the level of associate professor
