The individual for this role is one who can generate excitement from potential students towards the many opportunities that Columbus State has to offer, while building and maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, counselors, teachers and community members. This individual will guide students through the admissions process, while providing support and encouragement. Sales and customer service experience would be beneficial background for this role in addition to displaying exemplary phone and presentation skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Represents and promotes the college and recruits prospective students. Provides information of interest to potential students on programs of study, campus services and resources, student life, and opportunities for campus involvement. Arranges and conducts targeted recruitment activities within a specified territory. Explains educational program options and transfer opportunities, and assists students with developing a plan of action and setting proper expectations. Maintains regular follow-up communication via phone, email and/or text message with students to ensure they are progressing through the application/enrollment process. Assists with on-campus visits, providing campus tours, special event programming, Presents admissions presentations in front of large and small audiences of diverse age-ranges and backgrounds while maintaining audience engagement.
Collaborates with and executes referrals to admissions office team members and other college departments/personnel to facilitate enrollment. Builds and fosters relationships with both internal and external stakeholders; i.e. enrollment management and student services, academic affairs, etc. Maintains regular contact via phone, email and/or text message with future students and other stakeholders in assigned high schools, career centers, community and government agencies, and business and industry entities.
Tracks all activities, evaluates their effectiveness and recommends outreach changes and improvements. Keeps accurate records, completes and maintains all required documentation, including input of contacts into CRM, as well as outreach activity statistics and reports.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages multiple assignments of varying complexity while meeting federal as well as internal regulations and procedures, with the ability to adapt to changing needs of the College and business partners. Hours may include working outside of a normal workweek schedule as well as weekend availability on an as needed basis. This individual may work overtime or offset hours as necessary and may need to work additional evenings/weekends on a regular basis to provide service to students, cover college fairs, recruitment events, etc.
Other duties as required inclusive of providing assistance as needed during peak periods. Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required.
Usual Physical Requirements
While performing duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. The employee regularly stands and walks for extended periods of time, and occasionally sits. Employee converses verbally with others in person and by telephone. Employee occasionally reaches with hands or arms, climbs or balances and stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee occasionally lifts or exerts force of up to 25 pounds when moving files, boxes and other materials. With multiple conference spaces as well as meetings across the campus, employee regularly walks outside to other buildings.
Typical office environment. Regular exposure to moderate noise typical to business offices. Must travel to various Columbus State campuses and sites.

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Higher Education, Administration or closely related field. At least One (1) year of sales, recruitment, marketing, or public relations experience. An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework and experience may qualify a candidate. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

About Columbus State Community College
Columbus State Community College has been meeting the diverse educational needs of the Central Ohio community for more than 50 years. The college is proud to be an important contributor to the growth and progress of the region and to serve as the front door to higher education in Central Ohio. From the first graduating class in 1965 through this year, 50,000 students have earned associate degrees in 50-plus technical fields and academic transfer programs.
