University Advancement (UA) supports the entire CMU community in securing the financial resources the university needs to continue its ascent. As the division grows, we are seeking a Multimedia Producer with a passion for higher education and who appreciate the role of philanthropy in enabling the university to accomplish its mission. We are looking for hardworking individuals with a passion for their work and a dedication to the mission of CMU. You will be responsible for conceiving, planning and executing engaging video content for web, social media and events that advances the university's and division's strategic goals for engagement and philanthropy. You should be innovative, organized and deadline-focused, and have experience working quickly and in managing multiple projects at once. You will work closely with other teams within the division, including Alumni Relations, Annual Giving, Development, Donor Relations, University Events, and Institutional Partnerships; and report to the Senior Director of Advancement Communications.
Core responsibilities will include:
Developing scripted and unscripted video and other multimedia content to advance division's goals and objectives;
Conceiving, producing and editing videos for web, social media, events and other channels, including storyboarding, videography, and editing;
Building motion graphics and animation for various communications and marketing initiatives;
Serving as a member of the Advancement Communications and Marketing content team to find opportunities for multimedia storytelling for various audiences, including alumni, donors, volunteer leaders, parents, and corporate and foundation partners;
Identifying and advising on video and photo opportunities to achieve high quality outcomes;
Interviewing alumni, supporters and other constituencies to create videos for a variety of opportunities;
Planning video shoots, including location scouting, identification of talent, development of production needs, and creation and management of budgets;
Attending events to produce, capture and edit footage for various communications;
Planning and capturing photographs for multimedia projects for web, social media and other digital channels;
Performing related duties as assigned.

You should be able to travel both domestically and internationally and be willing to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
Bachelor's degree in multimedia production, media arts, communications, journalism or related fields;
5+ years of experience in multimedia production, videography or related fields;
Experience in higher education and/or large institution fundraising or marketing communications is preferred but not required;
Significant experience with pre-production, storyboarding, production, lighting, sound engineering, photo and video composition;
Excellent post-production skills including video editing, color correction, sound mixing, and still and motion graphics.
Proficiency with development of motion graphics and animation;
Strong portfolio of past work in multimedia production;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
Experience with Adobe tools including Premiere CC, After Effects and Photoshop);
