Ensures medical staff members' and prospectives employee's maintain current credentials and licenses to work legally in their field or specialty.
Maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting local, state, and federal institutions.
Reviews information on potential new employees to make sure all required licenses and credentials are current before hiring.
Monitor & Advise staff/faculty/residence/student credentials and licenses; advise staff/faculty/residence/student on renewal procedures.
Supports staff/faculty/residence/student in the credential and licensing process; provides assistance to staff/faculty/residence/student on renewal of credentials and licensing.
Participate in the development of internal credentialing processes; may train others on credentialing and credentialing processes.
Initiates and Manages records in licenses, credentials, and insurance contracts.
Release information to agencies and members of the public as required by law.
May serve on various committees.
Actively monitors and ensures compliance in accordance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Fraud, Waste and Abuse.
May maintains protected health information (HPI) documentation in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Other duties as assigned.
Associates and 3 years experience
Requires the ability and knowledge for analysis and interpretation of procedures, policies and practices attainable through specific education and/or training programs in a specialty or technical field. Advanced vocational or electronic skills or a basic knowledge of a professional field is required. An Associate's degree or certification/licensing in a technical speciality program of over 18 months and up to 3 years duration are characteristics of this field.Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
