Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM) is currently seeking a Research Teaching Specialist III for the Department of Restorative Dentistry. Conducts specialized research, using judgement to adapt methods and techniques. May be responsible for the management of a small-sized laboratory area. Assists the Director of the Biomaterials Lab with budgetary, training and administrative responsibilities. Keeps the lab clean, records and manages lab chemicals & suppliers and maintains records.
Assists in the establishment of performance standards, as well as in the selection of methodology and instrumentation.
Carries out various technical and research operations relating to investigatory activities of the laboratory.
Assists in organizing and conducting specialized research activities for a particular research project.
Manages lab chemicals and suppliers and maintains records.
Assists with instructing and training of students, fellows and technicians in various techniques and procedures to develop the skills necessary to carry out assignments in the laboratory.
Coordinates, supervises and evaluates the work of non-professional staff.
Compiles and presents statistical data with appropriate conclusions and recommendations.
Assists in the preparation of grant applications for the funding of research activities.
Understands and adheres Rutgers’ compliance standards.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in a relevant science plus one (1) year of related research experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science plus two (2) years of related research experience.
Experience in statistics.
