Summary of Duties:
Coordinates and conducts research on modeling Li-ion batteries; designs, assists and implements experiments for Li-ion battery characterization; develop and validate models for estimating voltage, heath generation and degradation, applies state observers techniques for State of Charge real time estimation; designs and implements Hardware-in-the-Loop experiments for battery modeling validation and optimization; coordinates and conducts research on Energy Storage Systems for electrified vehicles and Micro grids; prepares and presents paper/reports; writes, edits and/or approves progress and technical reports for sponsors; edits research results for publication and presentation; assists in identifying, writing and preparing proposals to pursue new funding opportunities; plans and coordinates meetings with industrial partners; conducts internal and external research meetings; schedules and oversees graduate student support on related projects.

Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience; considerable experience in state-of-the-art development in the area of advanced vehicle technologies and power electronics systems; proficiency with engineering software for mathematical simulation (Matlab/Simulink), electronic design (CAD) and control platform (dSpace, ETAS, microcontrollers); experience in power electronics and electrical machines control and modeling design in Matlab/Simulink.
Doctoral degree with specialization in power electronics and electrical drives; experience with optimal control strategies and high efficiency algorithms for power electronics conversion systems for automotive energy systems.
Target Salary: $55,000.00 - $58,000.00 Annually
