About the Opportunity:
The Lab Ops & Safety Manager, ISEC - Assists with activities and equipment associated with core research facilities in the ISEC; facilitates certification and maintenance of safety equipment; assists PIs and departments with ensuring training for personnel seeking access to laboratory and equipment; serves as a liaison with University Department of Environmental Health & Safety, assisting PIs and departments with ensuring laboratory and core facilities meet safety and regulatory standards; serves as a liaison with University Facilities Division to assist with maintaining laboratory and core facility spaces; works with service technicians for scheduling of maintenance and repairs.
Responsibilities: Qualifications: Both a Master's degree and at 6 years of experience working in academic laboratory operations in a shared laboratory setting are required, with experience with core lab facilities preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required together with excellent computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Ability to work well with others, strong organizational skills, decision making and a problem-solving mindset required. Knowledge of, and experience with, the culture of research and administrative systems of Northeastern University strongly preferred.
