Job Description Summary
This position is the primary research resource for the Law Development and Alumni Relations office providing in-depth research services to staff in support of the Law School's fundraising and alumni relations goals. This position directs, manages and coordinates the overall workload of research projects. This position supervises the Campaign Research Coordinator and also works with student workers. The Senior Research and Prospect Manager is responsible for: - proactive prospect identification, qualification, assignment, report generation and prospect tracking; - advanced research projects including prospects located outside of the US; - maintaining the integrity of Law data on the Atlas database and internal Master Prospect List; - developing end-user documentation including briefings, and tracking reports
Producing a range of research information products that meet the needs of the Dean, Vice Dean and Development staff, including research profiles, leadership reports, biographical summaries, financial analyses, family trees, industry summaries, and prospect identification strategies;
Overseeing advanced research projects including prospects located outside the U.S.;
Managing bi-weekly prospect meetings and strategy sessions for the Development staff, including agenda setting, pipeline review, and next step management;
Managing development meetings for Centers and Institutes at the Law School (including the Quattrone Center and the Center for Ethics and the Rule of Law) and maintaining relevant pipelines and lists;
Managing the campaign pipeline and data (including the campaign pyramid);
Using departmental, University and external resources including Daily Gift Reports, major periodicals, web sites, and alternate news sources to identify and qualify a minimum of 10 potential Law prospects at the $100K+ level on a monthly basis;
Maintaining integrity of Law data on the Atlas Database and internal Master Prospect List;
Developing end-user documentation including briefings, and tracking reports;
Updating prospect assignments on Atlas;
Conducting training sessions on prospect research and tracking as requested for LDAR staff as well as train, supervise and evaluate staff and student assistants;
Supervising the Campaign research Coordinator position, ensuring delegation of appropriate work, consistent work flow, and ensuring Coordinator provides strong, efficient and accurate service;
Prepare for and staff events hosted by the Development & Alumni Relations Department, such as Alumni Weekend, Benefactors' Dinner, Overseers Meetings, various lectures, and other events.
BA/BS and 3 - 5 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
