The Software Applications Developer II, under general supervision, performs complex and specialized software development support functions, such as troubleshooting, analysis, research, de-bugging, and problem-solving.; Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate; after hours as required.
20% Participates in the development of system and programming standards
10% Completes reports and summaries for management and/or users including status reports, problem reports, progress summaries, and system utilization reports
15% Answers questions and provides technical guidance and/or training to application users to ensure the success of an application
10% Makes recommendations based on the evaluation of software products and programming languages for their applicability to the system and/or project
10% Coordinates the review and analysis of software documentation and production results to facilitate problem resolution
10% Collaborates with the project leader to develop work plan and time schedules for computing projects including outlining phases and identifying personnel and computing equipment requirements
10% Creates and evaluates test plan
5% Serves as a senior member of the Applications team responsible for setting technical direction
5% Ensures consistency with design documentation
5% Performs related duties as required
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Â Three years of experience in the development, support, and implementation of information systems. Three years of experience supporting enterprise-wide applications.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in the use of software support/development tools such as working knowledge of PL/SQL, XML, Structured Query Language (SQL) and high level programming language (C, C++, Java). Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work in a team-based, fast-paced environment. Ability to handle multiple projects independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work well and learn new skills in a rapidly changing technical environment.
