The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the director with the provision of current and future direction for the Renshaw Early Childhood Center (RECC) program to ensure that it provides state of the art early childhood services for children of all abilities and the highest quality training for WKU students. This is a temporary full-time position. Continuation is dependent upon funding/need.
Organize and maintain ECC classroom according to theme and NAEYC standards
Assure compliance with NAEYC standards
Supervise and train graduate assistants and student workers
Act as lead teacher in ECC Big Red School
Plan themes and activities
Implementation of curriculum
Teaching children with emphasis on individual goals
Conduct ongoing assessments
Document child progress
Assist with scheduling children
Score and compile screening results
Coordination and collaboration with families
Develop and implement behavior plans and train caregivers
Accept and coordinate referrals
Master's degree in early childhood and at least three years' experience working with young children with special needs (birth through kindergarten) as well as experience working with a team of early childhood professionals and specialized autism training.
