Job Description University of Minnesota Assistant Director of Operations, Athletes Village I. Position Title: Assistant Director of Operations– Athletes Village II. Supervisor’s Title:Director of Operations - Athletes Village III. Job Duties 1. Facilities Operations (50%) a. Assist with the day to day operations for Athletes Village (Bierman Athletic Center, Gibson-Nagurski Athletic Center, Land O Lakes Center for Excellence, Larson Football Performance Center) b. Directly responsible for Facility Operations of the Gibson-Nagurski Complex and the Bierman Athletic Field Building. c. Assist with the development of the facility operating budget and monitor monthly expenditures. d. Develop work plans to prepare for all Gopher men’s and women’s practices, dry land events and non-Gopher Athletic Events hosted inside the aforementioned venues for the operations staff. e. Directly responsible for building maintenance, physical plant work orders, event conversions, scheduling of facility staff, and assist with daily/weekly/monthly budget monitoring. f. Work with supervisor to identify capital needs and repair/replacement projects. g. Ensure all part time student employees are hired, trained and evaluated annually while following the Universities policies and procedures. h. Ensure full time and part time staff is properly trained on emergency procedures for the facility. i. This position will schedule basketball courts, indoor fields, and mutli-purpose rooms as directed. j. This position will work with the customer, audio-visual, and catering to provide adequate services for events. k. This position will assist with oversight of preventative maintenance and emergency repairs for the facilities listed above while working with Athletic Facilities staff, Facilities Management and outside contractors to keep our facilities updated and successfully maintained. l. This position will coordinate the rental of equipment needed for building maintenance and repair to include but not limited to high lifts. m. Oversee and manage all supply ordering and purchasing for the facility n. This position will assist with managing third party vendors (custodial, etc) schedule and payments as well as coordinate all rec sports post event cleans. 2. Events operations (20%) a. Assign staff to provide facility staff coverage at all events held in the facility. 3. Other duties to be assigned. (10%) IV. Personnel Responsible For: 1. Part time staff of twenty (20) Student Laborers and one (1) full time intern (20%) a. Coordinate and handle all aspects with the hiring of 20 part time student employees. b. Properly train students on all custodial tasks to be completed as well as event conversions. c. Conducts performance evaluations on all part time employees to communicate expected levels of performance.
1. Minimum Qualifications a. BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience equal to four years b. 2 years’ experience in a sports facility setting c. Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
