Responsible for providing assistance to the Water Quality Division (WQD) to perform tasks associated with processing Pretreatment Program applications and related documents.
Generates Texas Toxicity (TexTox) reports for industrial wastewater dischargers to determine permit effluent limits. Prepares the pretreatment sections of individual permits for publicly owned treatment works in accordance with state and federal rules and guidelines. Evaluates pretreatment annual reports from municipalities for compliance with permit requirements, and agency policies and guidelines. Evaluates industrial waste surveys from municipalities without an approved pretreatment program. Conducts the review of proposed program modification packages for compliance with permit requirements, and agency policies and guidelines. Reviews numerical analyses of local limits packages submitted by municipalities. Enters pretreatment program data into databases and spreadsheets. Conducts research for categorical determinations of industrial users. Assists with preparations for Commissioners' meetings; meetings with the public, applicants, and stakeholders; contested case hearings; public presentations; and other significant meetings or presentations as needed. Assists with special projects as assigned. Performs various administrative tasks as assigned, such as filing and making copies. Prepares and submits required status reports. Performs other duties assigned.
Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of experience in data analysis, environmental quality management, public utilities, business administration, or related field or the equivalent experience.
