These positions will be a part of the Academic Programs team. The Veterinary Curriculum-Content Specialists will work closely with teams of veterinarians, veterinary nurses and assistants, project managers/coordinators, a veterinary-faculty and student learning-development coordinator, instructional designers, and curricular assistants, to develop curricula in support of the veterinary programs in the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM).
The Veterinary Curriculum-Content Specialists will lead and manage coordination of curricular content development and scheduling in collaboration with CVM faculty and the CVM Curriculum Committee.Particularly, the Veterinary Curriculum-Content Specialists will be responsible for coordinating and integrating basic- and veterinary-sciences disciplines within and across courses and years of the four-year veterinary curriculum.Furthermore, the Veterinary Curriculum-Content Specialists will assist faculty in developing courses and clinical skills in support of various veterinary basic science and clinical disciplines.
The Veterinary Curriculum-Content Specialists will also collaborate with the Academic Programs team and faculty to design, deliver, and improve curricula to support competency-based education and active learning, as well as collaborate with other MSU medical colleges and other colleges of veterinary medicine to ensure that MSU is implementing cutting-edge practices related to competency-based veterinary education (CBVE), faculty development and student success.
The Veterinary Curriculum-Content Specialists will serve as ex-officio members of the College Curriculum Committee.
Masters -Veterinary Science
Doctorate -Veterinary Science or Higher Education
Successful candidate must have a Master's Degree or Doctorate in Veterinary Science in Veterinary Science, as well as at least one year of work experience in veterinary clinical or public practice.
Demonstrated experience working in successful veterinary teams, as well as mentoring veterinary technician students and/or veterinary students. Familiarity with veterinary curricula or experience delivering clinical and/or didactic instruction to veteirnary students and/or veterinary technician students. Experience working in both small and large animal (mixed practice) veterinary teams with multiple technicians and veterinarians.
